At the Kimpton Eventi Hotel in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood you will be able to take a trip through the wonders of the universe with NASA via a virtual tour. The event is open to public on the 17th of August.
The Plaza is to be converted in to a mini space outpost complete with displays, demonstrations and interactive exhibits. There will also be video segments displayed on a 35 foot high definition LED screen and children’s activities organized by NASA employees between 10 am to 4 pm.
The object behind the exercise for NASA is to let the public know that despite the shuttle program coming to an end after the final landing of Atlantis there is more to the U.S. human space program. The space agency is now beginning an invigorated exploration for innovation and technology that will help develop programs that lead humans and NASA robots into challenging destinations.
In a statement released by NASA it was mentioned that in tribute to the incredible accomplishments of the Space Shuttle Program over the past 30 years, adults and children alike can experience AstroCamp and learn the basics of rocketry, or experience what it's like to live and work in the near gravity-free environment of space. Using Legos, visitors can build such things as airplanes, shuttles, rovers, a moon base or the International Space Station.
