RobotWorx announced that it would promote the sale of dual arm robots from Motoman. They plan to offer reconditioned models using the dual arm robots for use in assembly and handling units and also educate their customers about the uniqueness of the design.
The President of RobotWorx, Jarrod Bichon, commented that dual-arm robots are being typecasted. He felt that they were more like humans and fun to be with. He urged companies to study the potential of these robots in industrial applications and real life.
Motoman Robotics primarily deals with the manufacture of industrial dual-arm robots. The robotic designs from Motoman have advanced from the DA series to the DIA series and now the slim, dual-arm or the SDA series. The SDA robots come with 15 axes of motion, seven provided in each arm and one in the slim base. They are capable of high-speed execution of numerous applications like packaging, tending and assembling. They are extremely robust in their design. The dual-arm design is unique in its working, since both the arms can be programmed to either work independent of each other or together. RobotWorx is able to integrate and support any dual-arm robot from Motoman, be it a new or a slightly used model. Recently, RobotWorx had reconditioned Motoman DIA10 robot in their shop, this model is the predecessor of the SDA10 comes at a low-cost, is adaptable and high-speed. Bichon revealed his plans of exposing more users to the dual-arm robot by bringing out more reconditioned models like the DIA10.
