A manufacturer of industrial machine-vision cameras, JAI and PPT Vision have declared that the M-Series embedded machine-vision systems of PPT will feature JAI's CM-030GE-RH remote-head camera and CM-140GE-UV ultraviolet (UV) camera. The machine-vision systems from PPT may incorporate other JAI cameras in future.
The 16-frame/s, 1.4-Mpixel CM-140GE-UV camera uses the UV light’s shorter wavelengths to capture minute surface intricacies or to copy items that emit light below the visible spectrum. This CM-140GE-UV camera is suitable for complex applications including biomedical analysis and semiconductor scrutiny.
Clients can leverage the capabilities of an industrial UV camera with an embedded machine-vision system by mounting the JAI UV camera into the M-Series family. The GigE Vision interface of the camera can be linked to the processing unit of the M-Series using standard Ethernet cabling up to 100 m.
The CM-030GE-RH camera is suitable for tasks that require recurring high-speed motion and/or limited space including pipe inspection, pick-and-place machines, or "industrial endoscopy". This camera has a remote imaging head, of length 46-mm and diameter 17-mm, linked to the body of the main camera through an easy-to-adjust 2-m cable. The remote head camera features a pixel resolution of 656 x 494 and a GigE Vision digital interface.
