Czech Technical University Students Develop Juggler Robot

The students from the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague have created a robot, which has the capability of juggling five balls simultaneously. Even an average human being finds this task a huge challenge.

The robot developed by the students accomplishes this task with ease. The robot juggles five balls with accuracy and performs at a high speed. Once the robot gains market acceptance, it could generate a fair amount of income for the students.

The initial version of the robot was designed to handle three balls at a time; this was later upgraded to handling five balls without heating up its motors. Jan Psenicka and Tomas Nemec, who designed the robot, are students doing their masters at CTU. The design and construction of the robot was part of their course. The robot operates its arms in two directions, vertical and horizontal. Out of the two arms, one is shaped like a circular cup, which facilitates holding the pool balls.
