Case Farms, an integrated poultry farming and processing company, has chosen DigaTouch Advanced Universal Process Display and DigiLink Remote Monitoring Software from Flow Line Options for their waste water monitoring.
Remote water level monitoring systems from Flow Line are presently being used at the farm. Like other processing farms, poultry farms also tend to use large amounts of water. The waste water that is produced by most food processing plants requires special pre-treatment as it contains high biological oxygen demand value. Municipal facilities charge huge amounts for processing the waste water. Hence, processing units such as Case Farms have resorted to pre-treatment plants that are stationed onsite. These treatment units are of great help in mitigating the costs and helps in enhancing the sustainability of the plant.
Randy Mattison, the wastewater manager at Case Farms, explained that the technology from Flow Line serves to manage the flow equalization basin flow, flow of nitrogen and two clarifiers. He said he was able to monitor the plant with the help of DigaLink, by connecting to it through his laptop. Digalink is a communication link that is able to manage TCP/IP, Ethernet and Modbus/RS485 at the same time. The software is equipped with features such as data logging, real-time monitoring and display configuration of unlimited devices that are connected through the network.
Dave Grumney, the president of Flow Line, was of the opinion that their remote systems offered great advantages to their customers in remote monitoring of flow in various processes by enabling multiple monitoring and logging of data. He added that their systems were capable of issuing alarms via emails or a remote PC or smart phone in case of any deviation in the process flow.
