Gilt Groupe to Offer New Jobs in Robotics

Gilt Groupe, an online retailer of luxury brands, has declared the opening of a distribution center in Shepherdsville, Kentucky featuring a space of 303,000 sq ft for storing various commodities which are to be sold by the website.

It was reported that within nine months, the company will offer 100 new jobs in the Louisville region. Joe Reagan, President and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc, expressed his excitement over inviting the Gilt Groupe to their region. He added that the recruitment of staff for handling high-end robotic devices will help them in terms of further improving their position as a major leader in the delivery and logistics market.

According to Christopher Halkyard, VP of Operations, Gilt Groupe, the expansion to Louisville has provided them a good opportunity to bring in new technology and material dealing infrastructure for enhancing their customer service. He added that the high-end operation can be accomplished by utilizing robotics, mechanical categorization devices and conveyors and he further mentioned that the company is determined to recruit experts to perform these operations.

Gilt Groupe has selected Quiet Logistics for recruiting and managing staff for the distribution center. Bruce Welty, CEO, Quiet Logistics has stated that Louisville is an ideal location embracing both the UPS distribution infrastructure and an efficient workforce which can profoundly result in high-end service to their e-commerce clients.
