PTC to Supply Free Software to FIRST Robotics Competition

The Product Development Company (PTC) declared that it has been recognized by For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) as a strategic partner for rendering considerable support to the goal of FIRST. A number of teams funded by PTC won awards at the FIRST Championship competition held at St. Louis from April 27-30, 2011.

FIRST has played a major role in imparting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skills to students through its easily available, original, mentor-based programs. Every year, FIRST has trained over 250,000 students from all over the world of grades K-12. These programs encourage youngsters to receive STEM education and pursue related job opportunities.

PTC sponsored teams received several awards such as the Dean’s List Award, Curie Division Award Winner, Newton Division Award Winner, and Imagery Award in honor of Jack Kamen at the FIRST Championship. The Brain Bots team also funded by PTC got the Championship Inspire Award at the FIRST Tech Challenge.

PTC has been a crown supplier for the past five years to the robotics competition and the official CAD and collaboration sponsor for the past three years and has supplied free software to the FIRST Robotics Competition.
