Valmet will supply a Valmet DNA distributed control system (DCS) to Gwangyang Green Energy Corporation’s biomass power plant under construction in Southwest Province in South Korea. The order was placed by Lotte Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd (Lotte E&C), which is the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for the plant.
The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the second quarter 2023. Its value will not be disclosed. The deliveries will start in June 2024, and the start-up is scheduled for March 2025.
This is the first time Lotte E&C has chosen Valmet’s automation technology for its power plant projects. Valmet’s experience and advanced control system offer enhanced operational efficiency and sustainable energy production, as well as improved reliability operating the biomass plant.

Technical Information of the Delivery
Valmet’s delivery consists of a DNA automation system, a safety control system, and an information management system to control the boiler and balance of plant (BOP) of the new biomass power plant, covering engineering, design, documents, commissioning and supervision works.
