Single-Incision Robotic Hysterectomy Performed at the North Florida Medical Center

An innovative hysterectomy with one incision was performed by Dr. Anthony Agrios, in North Florida, using the da Vinci Surgery system.

Dr. Anthony, who is the founder of the All About Women Obstetrics and Gynecology, and who works at the OB/Gyn Clinic in Gainesville in North Florida, has used this approach for the first time in the area. Robotic systems have long been used for procedures such as hysterectomies, which permitted the elimination of huge and possibly dangerous incisions. But now the researchers are focusing on the single-incision approach, which would improve the robotic surgeries even more. The surgeons can now just do one incision for completing the procedure. Dr. Agrios has stated that single-incision procedures add to the already beneficial robotic surgeries and enabled the operations to be conducted much more speedily while catering to the patient’s comfort.

At the Gainesville North Florida Regional Medical Center, Dr. Agrios and his assistants perform surgeries, which are robot assisted, in a state of the art hospital. The All About Women Obstetrics and Gynecology is a complete OB/Gyn Clinic, which served women with varied backgrounds and ages in and around Williston, Ocala, Live Oak, Chief land, Starke, Lake City, Gainesville and Palatka. Patients could consult with Dr Agrios by making appointments either at his Lake City or Gainesville office.
