ABB has released two new palletizing robots, three palletizing grippers and an user-friendly programming software. These new products are exclusively developed to further improve the speed and effectiveness of palletizing operations.
Klas Bengtsson, Product Manager at ABB Robotics, has stated that the new products can meet all palletizing requirements of their clients and integrators.
One of the newly released palletizing robots is a 4-axis IRB 460, world’s quickest palletizing robot, with a payload capacity of 110 kg. It can handle around 2,190 cycles within one hour and is ideal for end-of-line palletizing and bag palletizing applications. It has 2.4 meters of reach. When compared to its competitors, it is 15% quicker and requires 20% less ground space.
Another newly launched palletizing robot is the IRB 760 robot. It is suitable for high-output and full-layer palletizing operations. It has a 450 kg of payload capacity and 3.2 meters of reach. In contrast to its rivals, it has greater wrist inertia. This feature enables the robot to offer heavy rotations and it can quickly handle bulky objects. The elevated speed makes the robot ideal for not only palletizing beverages but also construction materials and chemicals.
The new FlexGrippers include a Clamp, a tough Claw and a Vacuum gripper. The Clamp can be availed in two dimensions and it can handle cases. The Claw is used for superior speed bag palletizing tasks and a maximum of five objects can be promptly handled by the Vacuum gripper.
RobotStudio Palletizing PowerPac is the new programming software released by ABB. It can be run on a PC, enabling configuration, simulation and programming of palletizing robots and grippers of ABB. Prior programming knowledge is not needed for the users to run the program.
