Fiat 500 Features Robotized Engine

The Fiat brand, with its novel high-tech technological expertise, has developed a new Fiat 500 (Cinquecento) Prima Edizione model and it is likely to be released in the North American automotive market by the end of this year. It was reported that the Fiat 500C (cabrio) will be launched in 2011.

The Fiat 500 features a 1.4-liter, aligned four-cylinder Fully Integrated Robotized Engine (FIRE). This engine embraces an innovative technology called MultiAir system and in contrast to regular engines, it provides reduced fuel intake and delivers increased power up to 10%. The new car has been effectively customized to match with the North American automotive market.

Laura Soave, Head, Fiat Brand North America has stated that the Prima Edizione model represents a true Italian design. She added that the innovative features of this latest model include fuel efficiency, ensured safety, reliability and a pleasant driving experience to customers, thereby restoring the Fiat brand in North America.

The Fiat 1.4-liter MultiAir™ turbo engine received the “Best New Engine of the Year" in 2010.
