Livewire Robotics Team Wins Invitation to International Robotics Competition

The Pocatello-Chubbuck School District high school robotics team, Livewire has received an invitation to the St. Louis international robotics competition.

The school district has two robotics teams, Haywire and Livewire. This is Livewire’s first year, and in a regional event they were named the all-star rookie team and also won the spot in the International tournament. They have built a robot named Venom, which is all ready for shipment, but they currently practice on Venom’s robotic brother Viper. The robots, which are enclosed in company logos, resemble an object from NASCAR rather than something from the high school.

Livewire’s team members who have constructed the robots declare that taking part in the building of the robot is just as thrilling as basketball or football. According to David Angie, one of the team members, the whole exercise was a lot of fun, but a lot of lessons were also learnt. The team states that they would definitely need assistance from more sponsors to go to the competition in Missouri.
