RAKwireless Sponsors 2022 Micromouse Portuguese Robotics Competition

RAKwireless, a pioneer in LPWA end-to-end solutions and IoT technology, was held as a sponsor at this year's 2022 Micromouse Portuguese Robotics Competition. The event took place this week at Escola Secundária de S. Pedro in Vila Real, Portugal. Every year, the competition brings enthusiasts from Portugal, England, and Romania together to duel with some of the most unique robotics applications created. The competition focuses on speed, orientation, and precision where various types of robots compete in a maze for the fastest time.

"This competition is about bringing together like-minded individuals to show off some of the greatest innovations in robotics," said Antonio Valente, from the Engineering Department, Science and Technology School at the University of Trás-Os-Montes and Alto Douro. "We're honored to have RAKwireless a continued presence at the event."

The main event includes a competition of robots that compete to complete a maze. The robots continually duel in multiple rounds until the fastest to complete the maze wins the final prize. This year, prizes will include WisBlock Kits from RAKwireless. The event will also include an education series on the Micromouse competition and training.

The contest began in 2013 and since then, competitors from Portugal, Brazil, Spain, England, Romania, China, Taiwan, and Singapore have participated. Additional partners include INESC TEC research association, Portuguese Robotics Society, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Vila Real Municipal Council and Inova-Ria - Business Association for an Innovation Network in Aveiro, Portugal.

The competition is free to all and winners will receive WisBlock Kits from RAKwireless.
