Yandow Realty Group’s proprietor, Mark Yandow carried out case studies on two self-storage properties in different states. According to this study, amazing results were established including a rise in occupancy and operating income.
The studies were carried out over a duration of 18 months. The results obtained from these studies prove that process automation can have a major impact on factors such as optimized facility performance, increased cash flow and market value.
The first self-storage facility established in Austin, Texas was the South Congress Storage, which had approximately 2 acres of uncovered parking and 40,000 square feet of storage area. However, this facility needed an operation overhaul.
The South Congress facility functioned in the same way as many others in the area. Businesses could not be conducted in uninterrupted manner as customers had to depend on the manager for solving queries. Moreover, managers wasted much time for collecting data that could be easily accessed using sound property-management software.
The second facility in this case study is, You Stuff It Personal Storage, consisting of 274 storage units that is spread across a wide area of 30,000 square feet. Theft and lack of employee performance were found to be the key issues in this facility.
