Viking Systems, a company that develops and manufactures three-dimensional and two-dimensional visualization solutions for complex minimally invasive surgery, declared the selection of its 3DHD system as the vision component for a cost-effective surgical robotic system demonstration.
The robotic system demonstration will be held at the European Association of Urology (EAU) Annual Meeting to be held in Vienna, March 18-22.
Other products that will be a part of the cost-effective surgical robotic system demonstration include Terumo’s Kymerax Articulating Surgical instruments and the ETHOS Surgical Platform.
This combination of three independent systems provides the surgeon with three key advantages like the three dimensional vision of the laparoscopic surgical area, deftness and accuracy of surgical instruments, and the luxury of operating from a specific spot in the midline.
Viking Systems has plans to supply the three –dimensional systems to companies developing surgical robotics. The Company has had discussions with several companies for broadening the market for its 3DHD visualization system.
