Cognex, a leading provider of machine vision products, analyzes captured visual information to promote automation in manufacturing processes.
The company manufactures advanced vision equipment for automation of discrete items such as cellular phones, automobile wheels, and aspirin bottles.
Cognex also develops vision systems that are capable of carrying out a series of material processing operations like detecting flaws on the surfaces of materials such as metals, paper, and plastics.
IMRIS manufactures surgical systems that deliver real-time data and imagery for surgeons performing operations. An image-guided therapy solution provided by IMRIS uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and fluoroscopy to help surgeons perform intricate procedures.
In addition, IMRIS introduces three approved systems such as IMRISneuro, IMRIScardio, and IMRISnv, which are used for both intra-operative procedures and traditional imaging applications.
According to the latest report, Cognex’s sales increased from $41.2 million in the third quarter of last year to $75.0 million. Similarly, for IMRIS sales increased from $9.9 million to $17.3 million.
