Two indigenous robots developed by students of Bharath University, under the banner of ROBOIN, fetched them the Best Performance for Innovation award at the Spring Innovation held at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The event was hosted for students from a total of 67 universities.
Oasis, the humanoid robot is 58 cm long and weighs around 4.3 kg. Mounted with two cameras, Oasis can be used for tracking applications and face recognition. Oasis comes equipped with three customizable sensors on its head. The motors at its joints ensure 360° rotation.
This humanoid is also equipped with a wide array of capabilities such as sitting, standing, dancing, singing, walking, and lifting things. The Humanoid robot can speak several languages based on the user’s preference.
One of the key advantages of the Humanoid robot is that it can be used for conducting research. Although building the robot was a costly and time consuming process, the robot will prove useful in a number of consumer applications.
