A telepresence robot designed and built by the French firm Gostai, by name Jazz was found roaming around CeBIT.
Experts at Gostai predict that this humanoid robot can be used to replace humans in business meetings, thereby eliminating the need for frequent travel. The makers of Jazz believe that the robot’s implementation will result in low-cost meetings and increased interactions among employees from remote locations.
This telepresence robot with amazing detection capabilities, structured to be faceless, can be programmed to move around a factory or a warehouse. In case of any emergencies, the authorities will be alerted by the robot.
Jazz can function continuously for five hours and travel at a speed of 2.5 miles per hour. When the robot runs out of charge, it automatically returns to the charging station. The Jazz robot can be controlled by users through the Internet from a laptop or a smartphone.
Segolene Roche, an employee of Gostai stated that the Jazz robot, launched just two months back, is capable of recording its vision and play it on demand. A sleeker version, in black, is also available to serve as a robotic security guard.
