Boone and Winnebago Counties Students Participate in Regional Robotics Contest

Robotics teams formed by the high school students from Boone and Winnebago Counties worked intensively for six weeks in developing and programming robots for the contest.

The students utilized their skills in science, technology and engineering skills for successfully developing the robot. These teams will participate in regional robotics contests, which will be held in Chicago and Milwaukee.

Ross Kahler, one of the participants, has stated that during the game, the teams are offered 15 seconds of automatic runtime to operate the robot for performing the specific task. He added that they are provided another two minutes to operate the robot using joysticks, similar to a video game controller.

The winning teams will participate in the world championship contest, scheduled to be held in St. Louis.
