Force Team Welcomes Public to Attend FIRST Robotics Granite State Regional Contest

The FORCE Team, robotics team of Hollis-Brookline High School, has invited the public to take part in the FIRST Robotics Granite State Regional (GSR) contest.

The competition is scheduled to be held at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester between March 3 and 5, 2011.

Around 50 robotics teams from Brazil and several US states including California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont will participate in the contest.

The contest is the pinnacle of the six weeks of arduous task the teams have put into developing and programming the robot to perform a task mentioned by the organizers in January. FIRST organization was founded by Dean Kamen to encourage students to develop skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
