Robotic Industries Association (RIA) has provided a new statistics report on the North American robotics market. The report states that robotics firms in North America experienced significant growth last year and they have been continuously growing since 2007.
Robot providers of North America received $845.6 million worth purchase orders from several North American firms, with gains of 49% in dollars and 39% in units. By including the procurement orders received from clients outside North America, the aggregates reported are $993.2 million worth of 15,860 robots, for increases of 58% in dollars and 52% in units.
Jeff Burnstein, President of RIA, has stated that 2010 was a successful year for global robotics market. He mentioned that the requirement for robotics solutions commenced after the Great Depression, since firms restarted investing in innovative technology for augmenting output, adaptability and quality.
RIA has assessed that around 200,000 industrial robots are deployed in several US companies. The US occupies the second position in robot utilization. Currently, around one million industrial robots are utilized globally.
