Waltham's Gann Academy Students Win Inspire Award in FIRST Robotics Contest

‘Robotics And Brain Bots ’ (RABBI), robotics team formed by the students from Waltham's Gann Academy won the ‘Inspire Award’ at the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Tech Challenge Championship held in New York.

The award is offered to the team that stands ahead in all the judging areas. The team was formed last year and it comprises six students.

Rabbi Marc Baker, Head of School at Gann Academy, has stated that their students had an exceptional learning experience. He added that their achievement within such a short duration is truly motivating.

The students spent several hours on designing, developing and programming the robot for making it to perform specific tasks. They also learnt science and engineering related to robotics for successfully developing their robot.

The RABBI team will participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship, scheduled to be held in St. Louis.
