The Health First Foundation has declared that the earnings from their 29th annual benefit ball event will sponsor a ‘dual console’ for the da Vinci surgical system at the Holmes Regional Medical Center. The ball event will be held at the Florida Institute of Technology on April 16, 2011.
The theme of the event is ‘An Evening of Modern Art & da Vinci Robotics: Where Art & Medicine Meet’. Attendees of the event will take part in the dinner, dancing and amusement focused on augmenting sponsorship for the surgical robot.
Polly Molnar, Member of Health First Foundation, will serve as 2011 Ball Committee chair. She is working along with 20 other volunteers of the Committee to effectively plan the event and to seek community funding. Kimberly Meehan Agee and Kim Brown, Co-chairs of the Ball Committee, will approach companies for sponsorships.
The da Vinci robot enables surgeons at Holmes Regional Medical Center to adopt the minimally-invasive approach for performing complicated surgeries. The robotic surgery is done via a few small incisions made on the body. It provides improved adaptability, quicker recovery, enhanced magnification and precision than the traditional laparoscopic procedures.
