HACH LANGE has launched AP3800, the latest self-guided laboratory robot. The robot saves labor cost by analyzing several parameters of more than 24 samples using a DR3800 spectrophotometer.
Geoff King, Laboratory Manager at HACH LANGE, has stated that the AP3800 robot is a significant innovation in the laboratory testing segment. He mentioned that laboratories across the world are striving hard to bring down cost and test time overheads and the AP3800 can cope with both the requirements. He added that the robot enables laboratory staff to focus on other important tasks.
The AP3800 robot automatically performs all the testing steps right from preparation of a sample to recording the results. It features an user-friendly software and a sophisticated time management system. This system enables the robot to determine the quickest and effective sequences of sample when several parameters are being analyzed and also when additional samples are included during the course of the procedure.
The DR 3800 sc VIS spectrophotometer can detect barcodes and it can automatically perform appropriate tests from an inbuilt directory featuring 230 procedures. New methods can also be included in the library in order to cope with specific requirements. But the standard version of the AP3800 is programmed beforehand for measuring Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Phosphorus, Total Nitrogen, Ammonium, Nitrate and Nitrite.
The AP3800 robot can automate several steps including dilution, addition of reagent, mixing and digestion, thereby serving as a major automation robot for simple as well as complex testing.
